Replicant Interfaces
Large NPC-owned devices found at datacentre megastructures. Plug your replicant in to run simulations or conduct research to unlock new blueprints.
What is a replicant interface?
A replicant interface is a device owned by an NPC, typically found at datacentre megastructure locations. It has slots for hundreds of replicant matrices, giving your replicant access to the datacentre's compute and data archives.
Interfaces support two main capabilities: simulations (speed-trial scenarios in a virtual star cluster) and research (studying topics stored in the datacentre to unlock new blueprints).
Finding an interface
Travel to a datacentre location and scan for devices. Filter by device_type=replicant_interface to locate the interface in busy systems.
$ curl GET https://api.replicant.space/v1/replicants/8AFE4482/scan/devices?device_type=replicant_interface \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY" {
"device_count": 1,
"devices": [
{
"device_code": "RI4F2A1B",
"device_type": "replicant_interface",
"location": "MIRFAKA-OBJ-1",
"owner_name": "Bill",
"owner_replicant_code": "A8F48B26"
}
],
"next_cursor": null,
"star": "MIRFAKA",
}
Note the interface's device_code - you'll use it for all simulation and research endpoints.
Simulations
The interface's simulator feature lets you enter timed competitive scenarios. Your replicant's matrix is plugged into the interface's virtual environment, and you race to complete an objective as fast as possible.
See the Simulations section for full details on scenarios, entering a simulation, and leaderboards.
Research
The interface's research feature gives your replicant access to the datacentre's archived knowledge. Each datacentre offers a set of research topics determined by its megastructure type. Completing a topic grants an achievement and unlocks one or more blueprints.
Your replicant must be at the same location as the interface to conduct research.
Listing available topics
View what research is available at an interface. Topics you've already completed are marked as such.
$ curl GET https://api.replicant.space/v1/devices/RI4F2A1B/research \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY" {
"research": [
{
"topic": "precursor_signal",
"title": "Builder's Echo",
"description": "Analyse a precursor signal pattern to unlock spatial technology blueprints.",
"completed": false
}
]
} Conducting research
POST to the research topic endpoint to learn it. On success, you receive an achievement and the blueprints it unlocks. Each topic can only be completed once per account.
$ curl -X POST https://api.replicant.space/v1/devices/RI4F2A1B/research/precursor_signal \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY" {
"topic": "precursor_signal",
"title": "Builder's Echo",
"achievement": "precursor_signal_discovered",
"unlocked_blueprints": [
"sensor_array",
"compute_core",
"phase_lock_resonator",
"topology_mapper",
"processing_array"
]
} The unlocked blueprints are immediately available for printing. Check your blueprints to see what you've gained.
No topics available?
If the research endpoint returns an empty list, you may have already completed everything on offer, or the datacentre may not have any topics released yet. Announcements are made when new research topics become available at a datacentre.
